New structure, down the drain

Since the new MD OR ACTING MD took over the office, his priority was to change the MTCC structure. He assigned many tasks to nanny of the senior management committees where most of them failed.

Why? The maim reason was the covered bosses could tell to the AMD that the structure will not be followed. That is what happening now. No one follows. Money is not handled by Finance staff. HR has transferred a staff to Thilafushi but the Engineering Department does not work in so called division. Logistic remains in Male’. So why Solih and his team did was sent to Thilafsuhi.

Contracting or construction has “Ramzee” structure. Where are the SOPs.
With rain falls the structure has gone down drain. MTCC many influences staff is against the CHANGE. So why on earth Sappe and his little boys thought that MTCC needed to be restructured.

The so called restructuring that many of us complain ‘not working’ is really working now. I can feel it now – wow and wow. Well, we are more like the famous drug addict who complained a drugs not working on him while stark naked in public.

From the very beginning of restructuring works, many of us stopped their normal routine works and started finding groups to stick on with to discuss about the change. Some people can’t simply digest the idea of restructuring. They started criticizing about a process they are neither familiar with nor aware of. They just hear bits and pieces from friends and fabricate stories with their own spices…sometimes the rumors are ‘flaming hot’ while other times they don’t have enough pepper and salt. What I found amusing is the big shots even think the same way. Being in the senior management of a professional firm for more than two decades won’t change their old habits at all- surprising huh!

One of the big shots in particular, is negative towards all that is new or different to him. Be it a new technology, a new staff or new radiant – you name it – he is against it. When any change knocks on his door, he questions whether we really need that change even the needs are clearly justified economically, socially and ethically. He finds most of the things too risky to take in. He fooled some people by telling them things like ‘we have already discussed something similar 26 years ago – I am sure it won’t work , ‘the company is not ready for sheet piling at this point in time’, ‘it sounds good theoretically to cast concrete capping beams by MTCC… but it would never work in practice so give it to someone more capable to do it like TEP construction’ etc. He is now fighting to be stationed in Male’ while his table is miles away in Thilafushi…One thing is sure – if he succeeds one he will lose millions.

The reason that some of the seniors are not interested in the recent change is because they were not involved in the change process. They know what they have done to the juniours when they were part of the change process before. One of the oily ladies smoothly sailed between MTCC and AIM couple of times, breaking all the rules and policies when she has the smelly sorcerer’s stone.

Most of the critics do not understand the consequences that the change will have on their work situation. One in particular felt that she may not gain the extra 4000rf from company secretary’s position if she’s to be placed under a department. The past ‘consequences’ in Laamu regional office with her loverboy ‘Kapoor’ is still vivid in her memory as it is yesterday…I really feel sorry for her loss & ex-boss.

What I observed during the change process is most of the seniors do not trust the team who communicated the change initiative. Their lecture on restructuring targeted to unit heads and above at MTCC 7th floor proved that. Lots of unnecessary arguments, babblings and hatred… Oh My GoD!

Majority of the senior level staff are reluctant to the change because they have a fear of losing money when the new salary structure is implemented. While some of them have fears of losing power, control, and status others are afraid of losing assignments or even jobs.

So, tell me what you think about the change. Think about the olive tree.

    Dear Ronu Edurun

A stupid Structure without a Solid Foundation is sure to fail, didn’t they teach that in universities or were your too busy elsewhere when company sent you all to study,

This structure was based on greed, fulfilling own thirst and creating own power base of the so called structure developers.

At no time was this new structure developed from ground up and with staff at its centre. Sorry to say but theory and practical application is two different matters and sad to see that this is being learned by the so called structure maker at the expense of a good solid company’s sure ruin, which at this step in time looks inevitable.

When people who has spent too much time out of the system try to shape the system with only theories and fantasies, this is what happens,

Either by design or eventuality the inability to focus on current criss of the companies liquidity and resource utilization, the financial and credit lines of the company is fast closing , while other companies in the market that can be described as a general trade company as is the like of MTCC are diversifying at great speed and stabilizing in the republic of maldives.

When doctoring and delivering the preaching of change by the new elite of the company nowadays its interesting to observe that they themselves is ones who are resisted for the change to the companies system.

On a surface analysis of the current structure of MTCC the most essential ingredient of life in a the corporate structure seams to be missing totally.

The institutional memory of MTCC company has disappeared from MTCC and currently no one seams to know the value as the current heads (so called influential) has their own personal point (individual) to prove instead of working for the betterment of the company which will call for personal losses at times.

Personal advice to all empty heads is that you all deal with your own fantasies on your own and out of this company and not play around with public money for which you will be held accountable, this is not a game.

I am sure the next AGM will be a time of reckoning, don’t come with stupid stories.

Hope the blog heads have the guts and taste buds to upload this unedited.

Wasalaam and remember every one has to answer to there action someday your time will also come.

The hypothesise of abidhaas existence in MTCC
      The hatharu kenain
1- Fariq, was made a manager by adbidhaa, … a boy of abidhaa who helped to draindown the profits of the rentals department.
2- Thasleem, how did he get the chance the do his masters. It’s a matter that needs to be investigated. It was abidha who facilitated the process and allowed him to do a masters through company money with out a proper selection process.
3- Naseem, another boy of abidhaa, dig deep into the section process for his scholarship
4- Shifau, who knows how much he has digested though commissions form suppliers, well abidha knows it all.

The main objective of restructuring was to design for failure.

The fact is MDP regime dose not want MTCC. MTCC was a success story of the old regime.

The main purpose of removing the key directors was that they were strong advocates who wouldn’t just do any thing as being asked to do. I have seen that Shaneen and Raney were the only people who were working hard to bring a change to the company for the benefit of the company and its staffs. What ever the staff rights we had are now gone.

The second prepose of sacking them was to create fear amongst staffs. To show that Shafeeq and his gang could remove any one. It was a message for the all the staffs “if your not going to do as asked – you are sacked”

By destroying MTCC, MDP members are going to benefit. A typical example is RA-KO moosa, with his own Construction Company and conflict of interest.

Why weren’t the transportation projects given to other companies while MTCC had the best offer? The only thing they did was to steal MTCC master plan and then give it to other companies to implement.

Why was a Works Corporation created, why should the government create a duplicate company, rather they could have merged the public works with MTCC to create a better outcome for the country.

A lot of construction work are now being awarded to companies owned by members of MDP with out any bidding process, or if there is a bidding process, the results are manipulated for their benefit.

We all know that TSD is over staffed in its management and supervisory level, yet 10 new supervisors are being employed, … giving jobs to activists of MDP.

Anni is another dictator, where is the alliance government. The interview of Dr. Waheed on hoonu ghondi reviles the true face of Anni and the current “MDP” government.

Why does MTCC want to diversify ? If tip of the pyramid does not have enough potential, it would be the same for the rest of the pyramid.

I would suggest the SBUs to outsource its Management. MTCC will only do Contracting & Transporting as the name says. It can diversify when it gains its strength back. This company has no hope for a recovery in near future. Outsourcing MTCC’s management is going to be a good idea too. Better seek a good foreign management firm.

Look at Dhiraagu, one of the most profitable business in Maldives, which its management and regulations are standardized and monitored by the Cable&Wireless.

Re-structuring won’t help in anything to recover from what the previous Government had done. But MTCC needs its internal policies and regulations on paper and its essential !

    Privatize or outsource the Management:
    – Trading
    – Logistics
    – BSS
