HEADLINE NEWS:The never Ending meeting


15:00 hrs, 25th February 2010
Long awaited meeting is going on. Does not look it will end early and easily. Old fellows are mad about the new structure. Furious red faces seniors, were exposing their frustration as they came out for a break.
Technical staff payee will rise according to all norms from centuries while managerial staff will lower. Some staff describes this as an encouraging turning point which will retain existing technical staff. It is also true the seniors must be paid well to contribute their experience to succeed this company.
This will be along dragging day for some. Most of supporting and middle management staff are left confused and wandering around. Who will go where? Who would get icing? Who would be out-casted? Who would be mistreated? Who would!!!! .. to be continued..

    އެކަމަކު ވަރަށް އުފާކުރާކަމެއްވެސް އޮވޭ މިހާރު މިއަދުވެސް އެމް.ޓީ.ސީ.ސީ ދޫކޮށް އެހެންތަނަކަށް ގޮސްފިއްޔާ ވަޒީފާގެ ޔަޤީންކަން.. ވަޒީފާގެ ޤާބިލްކަންދެއްކޭނެކަން.. އަދި ގަޑިއަށް ފަރުވާބެހެއްޓުމާއި މަސައްކަތަށް ދޭ މުހިންމުކަން… މިއަދު މި ހުރިހާ ކަމެއް އަހަރެންގެ ކިބައިގާ އަށަގަތްފި.. މީހަމަ ބޮސްގެ (ރަނޭގެ) މަސައްކަތް.. ދެއްވި ހިތްވަރު…. ކުރިން އާއިލާއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި އުޅުނު މިޓީމް މިހާރު ވަކިވެއްޖެ.. އެކުގާ ސަޔަށް ދިއުމާއި މަހައްދިއުން ނެތިއްޖެ.. އަދިވެސް ކުންފުންޏަށްވާނެގޮތަކަށް ބަލާލަން މި މަޑުކުރެވެނީ، ރަނގަޅުވާނެ ކަމުގެ ކުޑައުންމީދެއް އޮވެގެން… ބޮސްތިޔަދެއްވި ހިތްވަރަށް ސުކުރުއަދާކުރަން. ހީކުރަން އަހަރެންގެ މި ކޮމެންޓްވެސް ކިޔާނެކަމަށް.

    If there is a loss to the Company in any project, that will be mainly due to the negligence of the Engineering Dept. Beside the so called “qualified Engineers, Mechanics and Technicians”, in the Engineering Department, half of the Contracting department’s Equipment Fleet is down and what about the other departments equipments ? And what about Engineering Departments Mechanics repeated attempts to repair the same problem over and over again ? Is this due of lack of pay or incompetence of ED’s staff ? And no wonder why most of the other departments are not willing to send their equipments to Thilafushi for repair and what about those million dollar bills that ED raise end of every service. Thilafusheega hame nu ulheneetha agu hadhan vs ingey meehehh ?? According to Thilafushi Departments bills TBD is paying nearly 13,000 Mrf per unskilled labour per month, 18,000 per monthe for skileld labours and something like mrf 25,000/- plus per month for a welder, thats something like the pay of the Directors. And you are talking about Ali Shareef, how much has the company spent on him for his Scholarship and what have the company got from him in return ?

    I guess people should face the reality; no one is getting paid for just punching their cards and simply being in office for long hours playing games on their PC.
    And for those who are in fear, you guys deserve to be in fear as you have been underperforming for all these years. If you can perform well there is nothing to fear about, not even if you lose your job at MTCC, because if you can perform, then you would be welcomed to any organisation.

    The Technical staff deserves a better pay, as Engineer Ali Shareef said on the day the Engineering department was opened, “aharamenge dhalaa lay ohoruvagen mikunfuni mi kuriaruvanee”. It was his split of thong, but he is definitely true, look at the amount of risk they take, they risk their health and life. Technical staff of MTCC have had major accidents due to lack of proper tools and equipments, yet they haven’t been compensated.

    On top of this, these “gaabilu” people sitting in head office, who don’t even know the meaning of “engineering” and “Engineer”, and can’t even differentiate between a Technician, a Mechanic, and an engineer, a service engineer … for worse, how about the difference between an accountant, and accounts officer, … mives HR gavaidhu hadhaa, vazeefaa dhay meehunge fenvaru. How could they perform, and deserve an equal pay as a technical staff working at Thilafushi, who sacrifices their whole day for the sake of company. Starting at 7 in the morning, and going till late night, Staff at Thilafushi doesn’t get the opportunity to drop their kids to school, wife’s to office, and have meals with their family.

    Moreover look at the financial reports, it’s the hard work of technical staff, which generates all the income, and makes the savings for the company.

    The truth is MTCC is over staffed with unqualified personals, promoted for personal and political reasons, neither Mohamed Ibrahim, Athif, of Nafaa had the guts to cut down on the number of staff but continued on the same practice. The worst part is the lack of commitment of these “Untouchable” staff. Even the hard working staff has lost the moral due to those who actually don’t perform. Well, they all get equal pay? lets see if Shafeeq has the capacity and the guts !!!

    My advice is, is you feel you are getting less and deserve a better pay, find a better job.

      Raney don’t be bias. Not only thilafushi staff are off-residential. even TSD, contracting, sales, rentals do have many. lets see contracting staff works in much exposed weathers, rough shores, on sea and land, high on buildings and down under the sea.
      Lets look at thilafushi staff:
      Highly paid seniors, with provision of food, AC office (spaceous), site allownace given and atelast one working day off for banking and other purposes. Had a boat and speed launch for traveling ( sometimes for liesure).
      One more thing we all notice was that your team is most highly paid. I am surprised that you have forgotten in such a short time. The fact is even for a skilled labourer Engineering department claims 500MRF/day. Isn’t this outrageous? In fact I believe you misused or mistreated them.
      The other plus point for the the Engineering Department staff; they have a recreation areas (volley and football), plays badminton in the workshop in , free diving facilities, fishing, marvelous landscaping with fish ponds liesure park and picnic trips.
      So do you all judge who get better pay check.
