100th Article: MD Isthiufaa

The blog celeberating its first century on published article by calling the present MDs’ resignation.
This was decided with reffering to many thoughts brought up in by many staff and shareholders in many occasions. The most significant factors noted were; availabilty or attendance, commitment, development factor, selfless,know- how of the companys’ field of work, etc.. were lowest scored.
The highest scored was on negative factors like; hudhumuhuthaarukan, importance of co- staff, oral communication (street language frequently used), abusing of companys’ resources and MONEY, extra-curricular activities (so called official buisness trip), etc..

MTCC has to take an action now . One way or the other, he has to be replaced. This is not Villa but this is MTCC, a public company.

Thanks to those contrubuted to this blog and request to contribute more. Keep in mind you responsible for for your action. Lets join together for a better MTCC. May Allah bless you all.

Nafaa seems so relaxed n the board of MTCC too. Seems like none of them really know how serious the situation of MTCC is n how it’s going to be. So why should he stay? If he has no plans n no interest for the good of this company it’s better resign. What’s this guy planning to do at least for the coming years? Ferrying? Realestate? Forget abt the ferry business. It’s gonna create more pain to this company..at least for the next few years unless a miracle happen.

I never thought i will write anyhitng regarding anybody in here. For the love of god will you please resign (Mr. Nafa Naseem) form the managing director of the MTCC.
We have inhouse qualified staff with great potenetial to gear up the company. Only we need guidnenss from the BOARD..Even Mr. Shaheen, who has a degree in Civil engineering, and a masters in Project Managment is qualified for the MD post.
I wish i would never known Mr. Nafa. He was better on TV…..

      ainu,
I doubt about the choice you have taken to show that we have in house qualified staff. Why should Shaheen come above Thasleem and Ranesh who also have Masters Degrees and who are more loyal to the company. Also, who are academically more qualified and have masters from World’s greatest Universities.. not in Bangkok (the sex city).
You are talking about the next coward. Employees hate Shaheen more than they hate Nafaa. He does not get along well with others. He is a control freak. He is not a social person and is a womanizer. In total he is crap compared to others like Shaheed, Thasleem and Ranesh.
Shaheen was a senior engineer when he was made a director just because he supported DRP. The others were also senior engineers but only promoted to deputy Director’s position, only recently. Have you think about the reason of the delays in their promotion? They are working in the fields their acquired knowledge but shaheen is in HR. He cannot even manage the HR, because he is too corrupted and too lousy.
Ranesh is now leaving the company for good. I am sure some of you would celebrate it. But, if you really care about the Company, you would try to stop him. Have you think of the service he rendered to the company? do you think anyone, just anyone can bring Thilafushi to its current strong position? No, its only Ranesh or few other who are committed to bring only good to this company who could only bring that positive changes.

may be your idea is to prove there is no-one capable by mentioning them.. i don’t want write about them because v all know how they r..

I fully support the writer and call upon the board to make an immediate and firm decision to bring down the current MD. Also, I personally request Mr. Nafaa Naseem to resign from the position and apologize all the stakeholders concerned for his unethical behaviour.

as the writer highlighted in the article, Nafaa Naseem lacks the qualities required for a Managing Director. He uses foul language which is highly unacceptable in a reputable place like MTCC. He sees MTCC as his own company when making decisions which only benefits himself and few others who are linked to him. He blindly make decisions to go forward with developments in anywhere he prefers, he doesn’t care about the viability or profitability of such decisions to the company.

After Athif’s term as an MD, most of MTCC employees were hoping to get an MD more focused on business rather than politics. However, things were escalated from bad to worse in no time with a mad man at the rudder. He is more of a sloppy manager sort person than a visionary leader. When we look into some of his decisions made as MD, we can clearly get an idea of this man. He is a coward who barely studied economics from an unrecognized institution. He only knows micromanagement where only supply and demand exists.

As the writer highlighted, he travels a lot to foreign countries on MTCC ticket. When I say, a lot, you may think two three days a month. No, he spends two three days in Office and the rest abroad. MTCC pays the bills of his friends who sometimes travel with him. Now he is in India with his father in-law ( the man is sick and this is the second times Nafaa travels to India with him). I am quite sure there no way he could justify all his trips.

When he was appointed as MD, the salary of the MD was not so attractive. If what I heard was true, he was appointed temporarily as he was the MDP candidate selected for Laamu atoll. However, he himself compared the pros and cons in the two jobs, MD of MTCC and MP of Laamu atoll, he found that MD of MTCC would be more guaranteed and hassle free, so decided to remain as MTCC MD after some salary adjustment. His current salary, allowances and other benefits excluding overseas trip expenses is more than an MPs salary package. He gets an average of Mrf 67’000/- per month as a remuneration package. With the overseas travels it will come up around Mrf 150’000 to Mrf 200’000 per month. Do you think it is fair to keep him as a liability or employ 200 more employees to get done some works that would otherwise generate more income.

He does not care about the policies and procedures of the Company. From an inside source, some projects are getting delayed and are subjected to late charges due to Nafaa procuring materials for the projects. Procurement department has no roles to play now. Seems like Nafaa is the head of procurement now. His sources even are unknown to procurement department. It looks like he is bargaining with the sellers in order to secure some sales commission to himself. Why would an MD plays the role of a purchasing office otherwise, when he has much better and important things to do.

I think it is getting too long now.. so I will try to contribute my views later. But I hope all the employees contribute to this blog and call Nafaa to step down.

True. More like you are experiencing it yourself now. We have been through it a lot so get yourself accustomed. Nafa only wants people who are corrupted. He even mentioned it more than once, he thinks criminal minds are to be credited for the way they think – they think differently and do things normal people hesitate to do.

A small correction… its not his father in law he was with but with his girlfriend and her father. He is a generous man indeed. Think MTCC should build a luxury home in Laamu for his girlfriend and family.

Other than that I think he has manage to travel less than previous MD, cut down on several other costs like entertainment etc by MD, and even recover so much outstandings from debtors.. Compare previous financial reports to current and taking account the recession, then you will see he is trying to keep staffs and avoiding retrenchments.. give the man some credits…

All I know is it usually very fast to pick on someones mistakes and weakneses but to appriciate the gud things are always difficult.

Based on the comments here it looks more like only a handfull have shared their oppinion and it has been only against him. I think thats a bit unfair and very politically biased oppinions.

Even the leakage of phone bill issue is absurd. You cannot label a man who has paid his personal calls by himself as a person misusing the companies funds. For such an issue to be on the Media its definately a political gesture rather than a reasonable complaint.

Hope when you want MD to resign you should atleast have more serious and real issue than just to instill hatred among the staffs.

When Maumoon oppressed many innocents, where were your senses??? when he emptied the goverment funds and still went on holidays, where were your senses? When he is aware of current recession and the national budget, sstill he wanted a good pay, paid holidays to anycountry etc, where is your sense? When he changed public accounting system to one account before he left and blame the current goverment on late payments, where were your senses? When positions in MTCC were promoted due to politicaal links to DRP, where were your senses.

I let the rest for you to ponder.
